パラリンピック・ドキュメンタリー「Who I Am」の試写会を無事に終えドイツに戻ります！

朝日ホールでの600人規模上映というとても良い経験をさせて頂きました。改めて本当にたくさんのスタッフの力をお借りして出来上がった作品なんだなと再実感しました。ありがとうございました！

「コップに少しだけ入った水を見て、ああ、もうこれしかないと思うのか、まだこんなにあるじゃないかと思うのか」と西島秀俊さんが言いました。同じ状況でもそれをどう捉えるか。答えはこの物語の中にあります。

それからエヴァン本人がこう言ってくれた。「あまりに作品の出来ばえが良かった。長い時間をかけて、たくさんのレースも観にきてくれ、できた映像であらためて自分を観て、涙がでた。自分のことをこんなふうに伝えてくれて、ありがとう。」彼の心に届いたのが何より嬉しかった。

選手の本番競技はほんの数分。しかしその裏には大きな物語があります。リオに始まり、ピョンチャン、東京パラリンピックに向けて大きなムーブメントを起こせるよう、映像を通してそれをみんなに伝えていけたらと思います。

The premier of the Paralympics documentary film “Who I Am” was a huge success! I’m overwhelmed. I really appreciate the opportunity to screen it in front of 600 audiences. And seeing the end credits reminded me of how a large number of people were involved to make this happen.

As Evan said, the actual competition is only less than 60 seconds. However the athletes put enormous amount of time behind it, and there is huge support from their family and coaches. There are so many stories to tell, and I feel honored to be the first one to witness them and have the opportunity to share them with you guys. Starting from Rio 2016, this project continues to PyeongChang 2018, and Tokyo 2020, and I’m so blessed to be a part of the big movement and get to direct the films with these top athletes around the world. It was amazing journey with you @evan_strong ! And best of luck in PC!
